RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL EQUIPMENT:
Family owned and operated since 1958, The Howard Adams Heating and Air Conditioning Company has been a pioneer in air treatment and comfort for homes and businesses. We specialize in being customer focused and driven to satisfy our customers’ needs. Since our salespeople do not sell on commission, we equate to your needs. We do not sell “fire-in-a-box” or “a block of ice with a fan”. We offer good, reliable equipment from recognized manufacturers like Bryant, Tempstar, and Trane, and we protect your investment with dependable warranties. Remember, most people only purchase 1-3 heating and air conditioning systems in a lifetime; shouldn’t you invest in the best system that you can afford? After all, efficiency equates to operational savings!

FURNACES:

The furnace is the heart of any environmental comfort system. Today, many furnaces that were installed 15 or more years ago can be over-sized by as much as 50% and are operating at efficiencies as low as 50% (which means that for every dollar spent for fuel, half of it is going up your chimney to the outside.) Efficiencies of new equipment range from 80% to 96.1% A.F.U.E. With the rising costs of energy, now might be the time to consider a new high efficiency heating system. When it’s time to look for a new furnace, look to Howard Adams Heating and Air Conditioning Company, who has been installing quality heating systems since 1958. Expert installation is only part of the story. By partnering with premium manufacturers such as Bryant, Tempstar, and Trane, Howard Adams Heating and Air Conditioning Company is able to offer furnaces that meet and exceed the industry standards for comfort, quality, efficiency, and design. Consequently, we can offer you a heating system that meets and exceeds your comfort, quality, efficiency, and trouble-free service that you expect. We feature an array of natural gas, LP, oil, and electric furnaces, as well as unit heaters, electric space heaters, and radiant style heaters.

AIR CONDITIONERS:

With the summer heat and humidity in the Greater Cincinnati area, we all know how important it is to have an air conditioning system that provides dry, cool comfort for our homes and businesses. Howard Adams Heating and Air Conditioning Company has been making people cool and comfortable since 1958.
Air conditioning is changing as we know it. The U.S. Government has placed a production cap on R-22 (Freon) and other HCFC’s (hydrochloroflourocarbons) in January 1996, and instituted a phase-out schedule to gradually eliminate R-22 use. After January 1, 2010, products using R-22 will no longer be manufactured. Howard Adams Heating has been offering the worry-free alternative to R-22, Puron since 1997.
Also, on January 23, 2006, the minimum efficiency ratings of all newly manufactured air conditioning increased from 10 S.E.E.R. (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) to 13 S.E.E.R. That meant a noticeable increase in air conditioning size and expense. We currently have a complete offering of equipment from Bryant, Tempstar, and Trane, with efficiencies ranging from 10.0-16.0+ S.E.E.R.

HEAT PUMPS

A heat pump is basically an air conditioner that can operate in reverse order on mild winter days. In the summer, an air conditioner absorbs the heat in the home or business and expels it to the outside. Heat exists in the winter air even when the temperature dips below zero. In the winter, a heat pump absorbs the heat in outside air and uses that heat to heat your home or business. When temperature conditions drop below the capabilities of the heat pump, auxiliary heat such as an electric heater, oil furnace, propane furnace, or natural gas furnace supplement the heat pump, helping you to remain warm and comfortable.
Some of today’s heat pumps offer a technology from Bryant called HybridHeat and Perfect Heat/Perfect Humidity. There are several advantages to Perfect Heat/Perfect Humidity. Using variable speed indoor units, Puron heat pump outdoor units, and special thermostats, we can provide you with warmer supply air temperatures (up to 19 degrees warmer), better indoor air filtration and quality, and a cooler, dryer air for your home in the summer. HybridHeat give you alternatives to just one heating fuel while saving you operating dollars.
As a Family owned and operated business since 1958, Howard Adams Heating and Air Conditioning Company is concerned about your comfort. Since a heat pump operates up to 11 months a year, we recommend that you invest in the best, most efficient unit that you can afford.

HUMIDIFIERS:

Do you suffer from static electricity, dry, stuffy noses, and itchy flakey skin? Do you have valuable wood trim and furniture that is being damaged due to joint separation and dryness? Is your thermostat set one to two degrees higher than it needs to be? Howard Adams Heating and Air Conditioning Company can install a dependable whole house humidifier that will put moisture back into your home thus eliminating most of the problems listed above.

AIR CLEANERS, FILTERS & ULTRAVIOLET AIR PURIFIERS:

Cleaning the air inside of your home or office is more important than it has ever been. Since the energy crisis of the 1970’s, homes are more air tight and energy efficient. This prohibits fresh air from entering the home, sealing in dust, dirt, pollens, and indoor chemicals. The tightness of the home also promotes the growth of mold, bacteria, and dust mites. Some products filter the air while others clean and filter it.  Both give you comfort and boost the efficiency of your heating and air conditioning system as well as achieve some additional benefits.
Filters come in an array of offerings from 1” throw away type, washable, electrostatic, pleated media, and HEPA (high efficiency particulate arresting). They range in efficiency from “bowling ball catchers” to MERV 12 ratings (the highest rating a filter can achieve.) These filters collect and hold particulate until the filter is replaced or cleaned.
Electronic air cleaners are units that clean and filter the air. Larger particles are removed by an aluminum pre-filter. The smaller particles pass through the pre-filter to the ionizing section where they are electrically charged. The “charged” particles are then collected to grounded plate and remain there until washed away during cleaning.

THERMOSTATS:

Many things have changed in the last few years when it comes to controlling your comfort. With the thermostats available today, you can do everything from changing your space temperature, to having the thermostat notify you by phone or e-mail if there are system service or maintenance needs. Since many older thermostats used mercury or bi-metal plates to adjust temperature, they were very inaccurate. Today’s thermostats use electronic digital operation and are very accurate in both heating and cooling. Available in both programmable and non-programmable styles, a dual setback programmable thermostat can reduce energy consumption by 16 to 25 percent, according to a study published in the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) Journal. That kind of energy savings will significantly lower your monthly heating bills. Call Howard Adams Heating and Air Conditioning Company to find out which new thermostats are compatible with your lifestyle.

BOILERS & HYDRONIC HEATING SYSTEMS:

Hot water heat from a boiler or hot water heater is an extremely quiet, clean, and comfortable heat. Many older homes have used hot water or steam to condition their homes. Cast iron radiators, fin tube baseboard, in-floor radiation are the most popular mediums of heat transfer to the home or business. Most homeowners with hydronic heat prefer to stay with a boiler when replacing their current system. Add on air conditioning is the only drawback to a hydronic system because a separate system including duct work must be added to achieve cooling.
Today, some homeowners are choosing to add in-floor hydronic radiation to certain area of their home such as bathrooms, bedrooms, and family rooms. This comfortable addition assures the homeowner that they will always be walking on warm, conditioned floors.
Howard Adams Heating And Air Conditioning Company has been servicing, repairing and installing, hydronic heating systems since 1958. We install Weil McLain and Bryant boilers and service all brands on natural gas, propane, and oil fired boiler systems.

DUCTLESS MINI SPLIT SYSTEMS

There are occasions when it is physically impractical or impossible to install a ducted central air conditioning or heat pump system. Ductless Mini Split Systems offer higher efficiency and reduced noise compared to other options like package terminal air conditioners or window units. Most mini splits have remote control thermostat capabilities and many have built in timers for turning the equipment on and off.

UNIT HEATERS

Unit heaters, hanging heaters, or garage heaters, as they are commonly called, are fast efficient units used to heat spaces such as garages, warehouses, and other non-residential spaces. Available in several different models, these heaters are ideal for heating spaces with ceiling heights from nine to twenty feet. Most use natural gas or liquid propane for fuel, but smaller electric units are also available for smaller spaces.

RADIANT HEATERS:

Radiant heaters work like the sun. The heater emits infrared rays that are absorbed by cool surfaces and objects directly beneath it. The surfaces warm up and release heat into the space, raising the ambient temperature. The benefits of infrared heat are: aesthetically pleasing, quick recovery, quiet, draft-free heating, and many design options. Call Howard Adams Heating and Air Conditioning Company for your design and sizing needs.
